If you haven't heard, Ozzy is suing Tony Iommi for the Black Sabbath name. He seems to think he should be making money off it even for the time he wasn't with the band, Wot??? Ozzy, you were a part of Black Sabbath a big part no doubt and you deserve your royalties and such for the work done while you were there but you quit man, why would you deserve anything for things that were done after you quit? If I work on a project at work and then quit I don't have any right in whats done with it after I leave, nor do I get any money made with it after I leave. That makes no sense.
When you left and Dio stepped in Black Sabbath became something different, it wasn't your Sabbath anymore, don't you get that? I'm not saying one is better then the other for I loved both of you, but it was two totally different things. Iommi is the constant throughout, Sabbath is his baby, he's been there 100% of the time, he's the only one who should be collecting on everything that has anything to do with the Sabbath name!
I don't even understand why you're doing this, it's not like you need the money, you're not desperate, you've had a great career since you left Sabbath. You make no sense.
Ozzy, you were the first for me, oh I liked bands and singers before you but you were the first that I really looked at as a god, you were the coolest! You could do no wrong. Well thats what I thought at 13 anyway. I've tried bought every album as soon as it came out, I bought your shirts, your keychains, your posters, I drew the Ozzy logo on my schoolbooks, my jackets, any empty blackboard and probably a lot of places I could have gotten in trouble for. I lived for the next album!
I later discovered two others who made me feel the same way, Alice Cooper & Dio, I dubbed the three of you my Unholy trinity and it's stayed that way up until now. You put out some albums I felt were subpar but I stuck with you. You sold out and became a reality TV star, I stuck with you, I almost gave up when you did the Nordstroms thing - No autographs and a person could only meet you if they bought a $75 shirt! I almost tossed it in then but then Black Rain came out and it was good, it reminded me more of the older albums and so I stuck with you. But I can't anymore Ozzy, I have to cut you loose. Oh I'll still love the music, and I'll always love the Ozzy that was but I just can not have any respect for you as a person with this shit you're pulling now! To me Ozzy Osbourne is now like so many others - A rock legend who died before his time!
It takes every person in a band to create the music Ozzy! Whats the old song - You're just a singer in a rock and roll band - Thats you Ozzy, just the singer and without a guitarist, a bassist and a drummer (no to mention all the tech guys & roadies) you are not a band!
YOU ARE NOT BLACK SABBATH!
